Understandable, very few commercial probiotics even go to the trouble of listing strains, but two strains of the same species can exhibit vastly different behaviors. Even if a strain can’t colonize, it can confer transient benefits to the host, but the personalized nature of gut microbial communities makes it nearly impossible to predict who will respond positively.
